Procedures

Day surgery centers are designed for patients who are ambulatory (able to walk and not confined to a bed). Surgical procedures performed allow patients to undergo a procedure and return home the same day. At the OSC, we know surgery in any format can be unnerving and that is why we strive to create an atmosphere that is convenient, safe and friendly.

Some of the more common procedures we perform are: arthroscopy and open procedures of the knee, shoulder, ankle and elbow, fracture and tendon repairs, foot surgery, Achilles tendon repair, rotator cuff surgery and hand surgery including carpal tunnel release and trigger finger surgery.

Sports Medicine Surgery
Our sports medicine orthopaedists treat the injuries for persons, of any age, who range from the professionally trained to those who simply enjoy athletic activities. We are the providers for many high schools and colleges throughout New Hampshire. Drs. Douglas Moran and Patrick Casey are the team physicians for the NH Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Total Joint Surgery
Total joint surgery involves the replacement of a "worn out" joint with an "artificial" joint. Surgical treatment usually includes removal of bone and replacement of the diseased joint with a metal, plastic, or ceramic implant. Joint replacement surgery may be necessary when badly damaged joints no longer move properly and cause severe pain. This most commonly occurs because of degenerative arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or post-traumatic arthritis arising from injuries.
